Literature Text

He met her eyes of melancholy misery
Flashing green and filled with the sea
And for a split second he fell into her soul
But she glanced away and he lost his control

Obsessed with every motion she graced
He longed to reach out and touch her face
To catch a glimpse of the brilliance he saw
But within herself she saw nothing at all

Her stain glass soul began to fade to grey
And the fragile glass started to chip away
Piece by piece, he noticed her decay
But he could never find the words to say

His passion grew stronger with every thought
It became unbearable, the desire he fought
But he refrained and only contemplated her name
Until one day he could no longer bear the pain

The moon rose high in a firefly specked sky
And he silently followed in the shadows sigh
He saw her stare downward and take a step out
But he ran to her side for he could not live in doubt

The stars lit the dewdrops in her eyes
As she mumbled worthless, meaningless lies
And as the tears lingered on her pale cheeks
He stroked her face and held her physique

He whispered sweet somethings into her ear
But the pain inside her would not disappear
This angel had fallen into a bottomless abyss
So he sealed her sad fate with a single kiss

And with broken wings, she took her flight
As he held himself back with all his might
He looked over, but she was already gone
She could’ve been saved but he waited too long
Ooh yay :D This is a poem I wrote back a few months ago. I thought that it had been deleted from my computer, but I just found it in an old email I sent to a friend (damn good thing I keep those!) Anyway, its moral is sort of... out in the open. But it's about a girl who believed she'd never be loved, and the boy who did love her, but never said anything of it. This was probably the only narrative I've written in a long time, but I'm quite happy with it. Although I think I need to stop posting all these depressing and mushy love poems, haha. Oh well...

I can't tell you how beautiful this poem is, and how much it means to me. I read it about a year ago now, and I printed it I loved it so much. I memorized it, and said it over and over to myself all the time. I'm an actress, and so I tried to use different inflictions, different acents... All kinds of stuff. I was going through a hard time, and it was like somethign to get my mind off of stuff.
So a few days ago, I finially deemed my presentation of it to be as good as I could make it, and I used it as a monologue at Regent University.
No joke, after the first stanza, the entire class was spell bound. By the end they were speechless and a few of them were crying. They said it was like one of the best they had ever seen, and it was a great poem, and it kept them hanging until the very end.
They would come up to me and ask who wrote it durign our break and all kinds of questions about it. :D
They were all really suprised when I told them I hadfound it on line and it wasn't like written by someone famous. You have alot of talent, so keep it up. You are amazing.
